Is John Daly good for the game(golf)?

I saw John Daly played in a Tournament at Harding Park San Francisco a few years back. He was playing against Tiger Woods to win the Tournament. At the last hole, he missed a putt by 1 inch to lose the Tournament to Tiger. So he's that good.
