Why should someone who took risks and now earns a high income subsidize someone who did not?

If one person decides to sit home and smoke weed, or drop out of high school, or not go to college, and cranks out kids with their equally poor spouse...........why should someone who took out tens of thousands of debt and spent years in school subsidize them in any way. Shouldn't the person who is actually contributing to society be the one with the tax breaks?
