Can i get a whv for australia?

hi all,2 years ago I applied for a whv for australia,i packed in my job and a mounth before I was due to fly out i got the bad news that my dad had cancer.I chose not to go to oz and stay at home with my parents to help then get through it all.now 2 years down the line my dad got the all clear and iv saved up the money to finaly go to oz.my problem is iv herd that i may not be abel to get a whv due to the fact i previously had 1 issued to me.at the time it never dawned on me to cancel it as i had more important tings tings to tink about,i never entered australia on it(never even got out of ireland!)will this affect my chances of getting approved for another whv?any help or info would be great!!!!!10 points for best answer!!!thanks in advance...!
