If it was August 1945, What would you say to President Truman to NOT drop an atomic bomb?

I would beg him to drop it in a barren place as a warning to the japanese to stop the war, rather than on cities. My father and his family were made prisoners of war during the japanese invasion of China and they were barbaric, the consequences of their war practices can't be ignored or glossed over. Even taking this into consideration I could never condone dropping an atom bomb over any population - this surped barbarism. Wicked?-no, I disagree with you there. I think President Truman was simply misguided and underestimated the enormity of this action.
