What types of establishments have id scanners?

I recently acquired a fake id that has is completely legitimate looking including all holograms. All it is missing is an encoded magnetic strip. Because of that I don't want to by mistake try to buy alcohol somewhere where i will be carded or try to go into a club that will card me. Are there id scanners at every gas station or are they more uncommon than that? Should I be worried to try and buy from the 7/11 down the street?
